Brown Shrike
Combination of black mask, white brow and forehead, and plain brown, not barred, upperparts distinguishes this from Tiger Shrike. Crown entirely grey or brown. Underparts off-white to buff. Female has dark brown mask, brown upperparts and 0ff-white underparts with dark scaling.

Long-tailed Shrike
The shrike with the longest tail. Large black facial mask extends from the forecrown to head sides, with hindcrown and mantle grey, edged rufous. Wings black with small white patch. Throat white and the rest of the underparts washed pale rufous. Yong birds plain, mostly dark brown with blackish face and throat.
